Cove Park is a small and peaceful caravan and camping park, with wonderful views across Ullswater in the Lake District. We are sheltered by trees and the Cumbrian fells, with a backdrop of Barton Fell and High Street. Ullswater is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Lakes.
We are superbly situated for all Lakeland activities and all of the Northern Lakes attractions. If you are looking for somewhere as a base for walking or touring, or a place to rest and relax, Cove Park is the perfect location for you.
The Park is very well maintained to make sure our guests stay is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The "loo and shower" block, which is heated in cooler months, has been fully refurbished this winter with new loos and basins and the introduction of FREE hot showers, our work continues to improve the Park all year round.
The Children's play area offers our younger visitors a safe environment to let off steam. Dogs are most welcome at Cove, (on a lead on the Park please) and we have our own woodland area and fields for exercising.
We do not have a 'bar' or 'club house' at Cove Park, however, there are many very good local restaurants and pubs in the area which we will be happy to recommend to you. (We have tried most of them out!).
There are local shops just a short walk away from the Park for your basic needs like milk and bread, or further afield is Pooley Bridge or Penrith for the more serious shoppers.
We have the most wonderful Lakeland wildlife living in and around the Park. During your stay will hopefully see some of our regular visitors which include red squirrels, an abundance of wild birds, and if you are lucky foxes and badgers too.
From Junction 40 take the A66 towards Keswick.
At the first roundabout (Rheged Visitor Centre) take the A592 towards Ullswater. Follow this road right down to the lake, where you will come to a T junction. Take a right turn, you will still be on the A592.
Follow the lake for 1.5 miles, until you come to the Brackenrigg Hotel on your right hand side. Go right up here and follow the road for 2 miles (up a hill, quite narrow and windy).
You will find Cove Park on your left, please turn onto the Park and you will be greeted and shown to your site.
Alternative route for wide caravans and motorhomes.
Follow the same instructions, except do not turn right at the Brackenrigg Hotel. Follow the A592 for another 3/4 mile, take the next right turn to Watermillock, go up the hill, past the Church on your left, and Cove Park is on your right.
