Luxury Yurt Camping Holidays in Deepest Dorset
We'd like to welcome you to Caalm Camp, our family-run rural retreat in the heart of the Dorset countryside. We have taken the very best things about camping in the South West of England (fresh air, lovely views and eating al fresco) and added comfy beds with fresh white linen sheets in our pretty hand-painted Yurts from Mongolia.
Our handcrafted yurts
We have six traditional Mongolian yurts available to rent, situated in a peaceful field on our former Dairy Farm. Each yurt is gaily painted in the Mongolian style. Inside they are beautifully equipped and furnished and sleep up to six. (Travel cots are available on request). We also have a holiday cottage that sleeps four people - call us to check availability.
Luxury Glamping holiday UK!
Each yurt has its own luxury private shower room and toilet situated in the Old Hay Barn, and use of a brand new fully equipped kitchen complete with an individual fridge for each yurt - perfect for preparing a picnic or cooking a hearty farmhouse breakfast!
Whether you are booking a romantic break, a friends' reunion, a family camping holiday in the UK or a corporate function, Caalm Camp in Dorset is the perfect place for glamping! (And The Old Haybarn offers an excellent venue for conferences, training courses or team-building weekends)
The Blackmore Vale is not just a great base for exploring Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire, we also have some lovely attractions of our own!
Walking, fishing, golfing and riding
Duncliffe Wood, an ancient woodland managed by the Woodland Trust, is just over a mile away. Open to the public and with plenty of different walks through the woods, it is known for its spectacular display of bluebells in April and May.
Other lovely spots to walk include Hambledon Hill, a prehistoric hill fort, and Bulbarrow, one of the highest hills in Dorset, offering views across Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon. The North Dorset Trailway, and the Wessex Ridgeway are other, more level walks which can also be cycled or ridden.
By car
From London or Exeter, turn off the A303 at Chicklade and follow the A350 to Shaftesbury. At Shaftesbury, take the A30 direction Yeovil and after approx 3 miles, turn left at the Kings Arms. Go to the end of this road and at the T junction turn right. Continue for a third of a mile through a narrow cutting and as it opens up and you will see Goods Farm on the left, opposite a Royal Mail brick post box.
By Train
South West Trains run an hourly service to Gillingham (Dorset) from London Waterloo and Exeter.
