The Local Area

Stonehenge Campsite & Caravan Park is the perfect camping and touring base for a relaxing and fun-filled family camping holiday or short break. We are ideally positioned for a wide selection of heritage, nature and activity-based local tourist attractions, including the ever-growing list of festivals and enticing pubs within Wiltshire, Bath and just across the Dorset and Somerset borders.

At just 3 miles drive or a 5.5 mile walk or cycle ride from Stonehenge, we are the closest campsite to the Stones. The number 2 bus to Salisbury stops right outside our gate, giving easy access to the Cathedral, its historic Close and one of the four surviving original copies of Magna Carta. We are less than 25 minutes from the attractions of Longleat and within a 35 mile radius of Bournemouth and its wonderful sandy beaches, Bath City, the home of the Roman Baths and the beautiful New Forest national park.

There are many scenic and accessible walking and cycling routes to be explored and enjoyed across and around Salisbury Plain and the surrounding area.

For a more relaxing stay, two pubs, the Bell Inn (Winterbourne Stoke) and the Boot Inn (Berwick St James), plus a farm shop are all within an easy 10 minute walk of the campsite
