Blacklands Farm Caravan and Camping is a friendly, family run campsite in picturesque rural Sussex just a few miles from Brighton.
During the warmer months, the park is very popular with families, and family based groups, with availability carefully controlled to ensure things don't get too crowded.
Young children will find plenty to occupy themselves with in the large fenced-off playground area located in the centre of the park - and when exploring the confines of the safely secluded grounds on foot or by bike - often with newfound friends.
The surrounding local countryside is perfect for a relaxing family walk with public footpaths running directly from or within the close vicinity of the park - perhaps to one of the excellent local pubs for lunch. Find your way along the paths with the help of our tailor-made google maps walking routes we make available for your smartphone on our website.
Select to hire a fire pit when booking, and join in the fun toasting marshmallows over the flames as twilight settles in.
The park is open year round, with hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes only available in off-season periods.
Blacklands offers camping across two spacious fields on well-tended, unmarked grass pitches in oak surrounded meadows. There is no shortage of hot shower and toilet facilities within comfortable walking distance of all pitches across the site. A number of electric hook-up points are available in the playground field.
The playground field is also home to the main shower and toilet blocks, along with the campsite reception, onsite shop, and the children's play park.
Washing up facilities are available in both fields, with water taps with easy reach of all pitches site-wide.
The country shop is well-stocked with fresh local produce and serves hot drinks, ice cream, and most of what else might need be needed during a short stay.
Please note that the shop is closed in winter months.
Fires are permitted when raised from the ground using a fire pit. Fire pits are available for hire when booking, while wood and kindling is available from the well-stocked farm shop.
Two (or three small) well behaved dogs are welcome (per tent or van), but must be kept on a short lead at all times.
Blacklands is just 12 miles by road from Brighton & Hove, via Devil's Dyke across the South Downs National Park.
Burgess hill, around 5 miles away, offers major supermarkets, a sports centre with indoor swimming pool, and a pleasant town centre to stroll around.
Henfield is around two miles away - by road, or on foot via public footpaths. Lying on the bus route between Brighton and Horsham, Henfield has a medium sized supermarket, a number of restaurants and takeaways, a couple of historic pubs, and a later hours convenience store. It also lies along the South Downs Link, a unique walking and cycling route running between Shoreham Beach and Guildford.
For satnav, entering the postcode BN5 9AT will bring you to the entrance of the campsite.
Along the B2116, about 1 mile from the A281, or two miles from the A23, look out for two large black and white painted cows, at the head of a tree lined driveway. This is the entrance to Blacklands Farm.
As you arrive in the main courtyard of the farm, there are two entrances to your right. The first is a driveway to a private bungalow. Take the second entrance, and proceed through the wooded area to arrive at the main field of the campsite. The reception building and shop is then directly on your left as you enter.
